Get ready to raise a glass at a few of the best beer bars Budapest has to offer. Your private tour will begin in a one-of-a-kind steampunk bar, with a totally unique vibe and detailed steampunk-style interior to match. Here you’ll have your first Hungarian beer and some local snacks to soak up the rest of the beer ahead of us.
Next, we’ll explore some of the small streets of the Palace Quarter where you’ll get to experience the area’s late 19th-century architecture on route to our second beer-hopping spot. It’s one of the most popular pubs these days among locals, located on the edge of the Danube and housed in a cavernous former warehouse. Here you’ll get some beautiful views of the Buda side overlooking the Danube from the bar’s scenic waterside terrace.
Following this, we’ll travel back in time to the communist era to a pub that was opened by one of the best football (soccer) players of the last century. The pub’s name is in reference to Hungary’s biggest success in football, when the Magical Magyars team beat England at Wembley Stadium in 1953. They were the first team to beat England at home, and one of the most important players on the winning team was Hidegkuti Nándor, the first owner of this bar, which has become a place of pilgrimage for football lovers. Here you can experience the laid-back, old-style pub scene and enjoy some local snacks.
Our last stop is a signature bar on the Hungarian craft beer scene. This iconic bar serves an abundance of craft beers on tap, and was recently voted among the best brew pubs in Europe by The Guardian.
