Spain has been one of the best holiday destinations for decades. Mainly because It is relatively easy to find cheap flights and also because it boasts more than 5,000 miles of gorgeous coastlines! So whether you’re looking for a lively family holiday or prefer a quiet sandy beach then take a look at these top ten:

Playon de Bayas – El Sablon Beach Asturias

This is one of the best beaches located in the province of Asturias. Forests surround the whole stretch of this beautiful beach. It has golden sands and plenty of amenities which include showers, lifeguard, surfing and parking.

Cala de Algaiarens – Menorca

Menorca is famous for its many coves and the spectacular large beach in Cala de Algaiarens is fantastic. It is actually made up of two large beaches and both are located within a rocky bay and have lovely soft sand, shallow waters and are both child friendly.

Playas de Barbate – Cadiz

Barbate boasts some of the most stunning beaches in Spain. The majority have long areas of fine white sand. They are always kept very clean and make a peaceful and relaxing experience as opposed to the overly busy Costas.

Playa de Llagosteira – La Coruna

This beach is situated at the entrance to Cape Fisterra and runs 3 kms in length. The water is gorgeous, clear and tranquil. There is an abundance of bars restaurants to choose from, serving delicious seafood.

Playa de Illetes – Formentera

This beach is situated at the northern tip of Formentera.  It is popular for tourists and also locals so can get busy at peak times. There are plenty of restaurants, and sun beds to hire. Do take note that due to the terrain some areas are only accessible by walking and not by car.

Playas de Denia – Alicante

There are plenty of beaches along the Alicante coastline. The best include Les Marines and the famous Les Deveses – which is the largest beach in the area and has lovely soft fine sand. It can get quite windy at times making it a haven for windsurfers.

Playas de Chipiona – Cadiz

The beaches situated here are all proud holders of the Blue Flag and have been the most sort after summer locations for generations.  The beaches include the Playa Cruz del Mar, Playa Las Canteras and Playa La Regla.  All the beaches have a family friendly Spanish atmosphere with plenty of beach bars and restaurants.

Playa de Mazagon – Huelva

Located in Andalucía’s beautiful southern coastline, there are 3 main beaches near Mazagon; Playa de Mazagon, Playa de Las Dunes and Playa de Alcor. The Playa de Mazagon is close to the marina, the Playa de la Dunes is westward to the town and quieter, whilst Playa de Alcor is a good walk from Mazagon town centre.

 San Vicente de la Barquera – Cantabria

Here there are the most beautiful beaches along the coastline, including; Playa de Meron, Playa Rosal, Playa de Somo, Playa de Puntal, Playas de Llangre, Playa de Sonabia, Playa de Berria and Playa de Valdearenas. All boast amazing clear blue waters and golden sands.

Beach de Levante – Benidorm – Alicante

This beach is located on the seafront of Benidorm, Spain’s most popular holiday destination. It is certainly not a quiet beach but remains very popular – with six kms of clean golden sands. There is an abundance of sun beds for rent, beach sports and children’s activities, along with many restaurants and beach bars.
