Experience holiday ideas in France
France is a very diverse country with so much to do and see! From champagne drives and bobsleigh rides to the thrills in Disneyland, Paris. Here are a few different ideas to give you some inspiration:
Snowboarding at Courcheval
Courcheval is known for being the winter home of the Côte d’Azur. It has its own airport, so you can fly directly there. It is a fantastic boarding destination and has three fun parks and lots of under used off-piste. On the Verdons piste, the smooth rolling curves give the perfect practice zone for promising freestylers, whilst the more experienced boarders will head to the Plantrey Snow Park which includes an obstacle course and half-pipe.
Ride the bobsleigh run at La Plagne
So, for all you thrill-seekers out there – this is a superb holiday experience in France
for you! The bobsleigh run is at La Plagne and was actually built for the Albertville Winter Olympics. You will climb aboard the 56mph self-steering mono bob, get yourself comfortable and shoot off down the track. Another option is to have a skilled driver to take you even faster (speeds up to 62mph) in a taxi bob.
Follow the fizz Champagne Trail
A lovely holiday experience in France, is this fabulous drive along the Route du Champagne between Reims and Epernay. However, do be aware if you are the driver, you swallow the champagne in various flutes – which can amount to quite a lot if you are behind the wheel. There are three special circuits to choose from – The Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs and the nearby Vallée de la Marne circuit, which serves very fruity champagnes. The circuits are all very well signposted from Epernay and Reims.
Bayonne: the chocolate coast
This beautiful and historic port is situated in the Basque Country and is the birthplace of French chocolate. Today eight artisan chocolate producers still operate in Bayonne; four of them have shops on Rue Port Neuf, where the same machinery is used to make chocolates as they did in 1850. The luxurious hot chocolate drink is to die for! Afterwards, if you are not too full up with chocolate there is plenty of history to explore. The most picturesque region is near to the Nive River, and the stunning beach resort of Biarritz is just a few kilometres away. All in all a wonderful holiday experience in France.
Walt Disneyland, Paris
Probably the best and most famous experience holiday idea in France for all the family – is of course Disneyland. You will definitely need a few days to see everything that Disneyland has to offer! Delight your family with all the thrilling rides. The famous Space Mountain – Mission 2 offers exciting rides for the grown-ups, whilst little ones can find plenty to do in every corner of the park, from Pirates of the Caribbean to the spinning Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups. There are spectacular shows, magical treats and rides to make you laugh out loud or scream in terror! The best way to get around the parks is by using 2- 4 day Hopper Tickets which can be purchased easily on line and then scanned in at the entry gates.
